This week for the Rooted Countdown I’m talking with Joel Button about construction. Joel has been part of the Renovation Task Force going back to the very beginning of this project. In this episode, we discuss that team’s process of choosing an architect and contractor, and then all the troubleshooting and navigation required along the way.

Joel Button is originally from Iowa. He started dating his wife Martha when they were both in high school and they have been married since 1990. They have seven children, whom Martha homeschooled for several years. Joel has spent the bulk of his career in education; he has been an administrator for a charter school in Minnesota and for a Christian international boarding school in Iowa. Joel did undergraduate at the University of Minnesota and later went on to Law School, graduating in 2008.
