1. The faithfulness of God amidst human rebellion is the theme of Israel’s story. Why is knowing the history of God’s people important for the present? What is the danger in forgetting these things?

2. Like Phinehas, we must confront sin head-on. First and foremost in our own hearts, and secondly, in the lives of those around us. Where in your life do you need to attack sin with renewed zeal?
