Welcome, Hecox Family!

Dear Church,

As we get into the heart of summer, I’m deeply encouraged by God’s grace to our church. Really. God has been so good to us!

These are especially exciting times as we continue in the ROOTED initiative, and as we seek to rebuild our discipleship rhythms. We are more committed now than ever to heralding the supremacy of Jesus and his gospel, to investing together in our mutual discipleship, and to multiplying more churches in the Twin Cities who do the same.

Currently, by God’s grace, we’ve launched three churches who are all healthy and faithful in making Jesus known, All Peoples Church, Redeemer Church, and Westview Church. While we’ve extended the runway for the plant of Mike Schumann and his team, we are also excited to welcome our next church planting resident, Jordan Hecox.

Jordan, and his wife, Lauren, and their four children, Rubyanna, Lila, Ezra, and Hazel, will join us for their first Sunday on July 4. Having served as the associate pastor of Skandia Evangelical Free Church, Jordan and his family will be moving to St. Paul to begin our church planting residency and to serve on our staff over the next year. Their aim is to build a team and plant in the east metro in fall 2022.

Though Jordan has pastored in Skandia the last five years, he’s no stranger to the Twin Cities. He earned his MDiv at Bethlehem College and Seminary, and also served on staff at Bethlehem Baptist North Campus for three years. I’m thrilled to have the Hecox’s join our church and start down the path toward planting.

As they are plugging in at Cities Church, please give them a hearty welcome on July 4, and in the meantime, feel free to send them an encouragement by emailing jordan@citieschurch.com.
